We bit the bullet and bought a faltner for our glue rack. This helps save wood which interns saves money and helps us keep the prices as low as we can.. This was another major investment we made this year. This allows us to cut thinner strips , glue them up and be able to pane them smooth with very little wood waste. The old way we had to allow for warping of the boards so we had to cut thicker strips and plane out the highs and low sections. The flattner is air operated, it applies pressure to squeeze the board flat to the glue rack. over $1,400.00 investment to help cut cost on wood. With the current cost of wood. it should pay for itself the first year.
